The Sanford Underground Research Facility and The Institute for Underground Science at SURF extend a special invitation to academic leadership and key faculty members from South Dakota universities to the inaugural Higher Education Connections Workshop at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF).
This workshop aims to build an intellectual community and explore potential collaborations among South Dakota universities, SURF and The Institute for Underground Science at SURF. Our role in supporting student academic achievement, building the South Dakota workforce of tomorrow, and leveraging multidisciplinary research opportunities is a collaborative one and partnering with post-secondary schools propels our mission.
Our primary goal for this workshop is to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and support South Dakota universities. The workshop serves as a platform to forge new partnerships, raise awareness about the tremendous opportunities within the state, and emphasize that pursuing exceptional achievements does not necessitate leaving South Dakota. We envision a dynamic gathering that brings together leaders with a shared commitment to advancing scientific exploration. This includes faculty from emphasis areas such as science, engineering, STEM education, and/or research in an underground facility.
